eTwinning Back to School Campaign Prize Giving

The eTwinning Back to School Campaign ended at the end of November 2010 and the lottery was drawn during the first week of December to reveal the winners of the digital resources kindly sponsored by IMS Ltd. and Exigy. The eTwinning National Support service visited the winning schools and presented these awards to the Heads of Schools and the participating teachers.

Are Web 2.0 tools forever?

Without doubt Web 2.0 tools are a bliss. Most of them are free and very useful. Despite all these benefits, there are also some disadvantages. One of the things I say during my lectures on Web 2.0 tools is that teachers should never rely totally on such tools. A case in point is Del.icio.us, owned by Yahoo. It seems that the popular social bookmarking, used by many including teachers, is going to shut down. It is not the end of the world. Diigo is a replacement to Del.icio.us. The good news is that all Del.icio.us supporters can export the bookmarks to Diigo or even to your favourite browser.

Project Based Learning

While allowing for some degree of student “voice and choice,” rigorous projects are carefully planned, managed, and assessed to help students learn key academic content, practice 21st Century Skills (such as collaboration, communication & critical thinking), and create high-quality, authentic products & presentations.

eTwinning Awareness Programme for the Senior Management Team

Circular CMeLD 243/2010 has been sent to all Kinder, Primary and Secondary schools to invite Senior Management Staff to attend an eTwinning Awareness Programme.

eTwinning is the Virtual Community for Schools in Europe. Teachers from all participating countries can register and use the eTwinning online tools (Portal, Desktop and TwinSpace) to meet virtually, exchange ideas and practice examples, team up in Groups, learn together in Learning Events and engage in online-based projects.
