Winter eLearning Courses 2011/2012

Winter eLearning Courses being offered by the
Curriculum Management and eLearning Department.


Applications for the Winter 2011 - 2012 eLearning Courses are now being received. All educators within Sections and State, Church and Independent schools are encouraged to apply online for the eLearning Courses being offered by the Curriculum Management and eLearning Department. The courses will be held at the eLearning Centre Floriana, week starting Monday 6th February 2012.

Applicants are to apply online by not later than Friday 13th January 2012 at noon.

Charles Daniel Saliba presents his bibliography of works on Maltese proverbs to Professor Soares

For the fifth consecutive year, the International Association of Paremiology (AIP-IAP) has organised its Interdisciplinary Colloquium on Proverbs (ICP11) in Tavira, Portugal, the “city of proverbs”. Scholars from around the world meet to attend lectures on different themes related to proverbs. This year the president, Professor Rui João Baptista Soares, worked with the honorary Consul of Malta in Tavira, Dr Josè Lisboa, and the Maltese Embassy in Portugal to allow Malta to be represented for the first time.

Charles Daniel Saliba presents his book to Borut Kincel

On Sunday 30 October, the Gozo Karate Club (Tenchi Ryu Jutsu) had the honour to host Shinin Borut Kincl, 6th Dan Black Belt, founder and head of the Kempo Arnis Federation (KAF) and instructor to the Slovenian Special Forces. He was welcomed by the three club instructors, Sensei Joseph Portelli (3rd Dan Black Belt), Sensei Alex Vella-Muskat (2nd Dan Black Belt) and Sensei Charles Daniel Saliba (1st Dan Black Belt) as well as by the Minister for Gozo, Hon. Giovanna Debono, and the Official in Charge of the Gozo Sports Complex, Mr Albert Scerri.

30th International Cat Show

The Malta Feline Guardian Club, MFGC, is renowned both for its Cat Shows of a high benchmark and for offering other delights to all Cat lovers. Thus, as a special treat, on Saturday 29th October, the Club would be setting up the 30th International Cat Show at Tigne Point, Sliema. The show is open to the public between 10.30am and 6.30pm and entrance to the show will be FREE. There will also be a reduced price on Car Park at Tigne Point for all those who will be showing their cats. This would also be the first show the club is presenting after the summer recess.

Charles Daniel Saliba, Avi Nardia, Joseph Portelli, Borut Kincl, Guy Rafaeli, Alex Vella Muskat and Felix SammutIn June, for the fourth year running, Shihan Borut Kincl, 6th Dan Black Belt, founder and head of the Kempo Arnis Federation (KAF), organised the Warrior Tribes Gathering and Tribal Challenge in the Olympic Complex at Planica in Slovenia. International experts led intensive training in different martial arts styles and fighting techniques.
