Ms. Anna Spala, of John Kochanowskiego Secondary School nr 1 in Koluszki, Poland, is looking for a Maltese partner for her project, Meet Us and Our School. This project will focus on the students’ life, both at school and also their activities after school. The Polish students involved in the project are 14 years old, and the project will run from October 2011 till May 2012. During this project, students will be working on various ICT tools, such as blogs, emails, multimedia presentations, photos and short films.

eTwinning Malta is marking the start of the new scholastic year, 2011-2012 with the eTwinning Back to School Campaign. Ms. Miriam Schembri, one of the eTwinning Ambassador for Malta, will be presenting an online Learning Event about Children’s Rights between the 14th and the 28th of October, 2011. This Learning Event will explore the topic of Children’s Rights and how they affect classroom practice, and will also discuss approaches to teaching and project work within eTwinning. The number of applicants is limited 120. Applications will open on the the 7th of October, and interested teachers will be able to apply by clicking on the link which will appear on their eTwinning Desktop.

The Project Card is a new feature now available for all eTwinners engaged in a project to remain in contact with their NSS. It was developed during the Summer, after a survey amongst eTwinners revealed that only 20% of users used the Project Diary to communicate with their National Support Service. So the Project Card was born!
The Maltese eTwinning NSS are pleased to organize a ShareIT seminar where teachers who participated in eTwinning projects during this scholastic year are being invited to come and share their experience and ideas.

The eTwinning National Support Service of Belgium will be organizing a Multilateral Contact Seminar in Brussels, Belgium. The main aim of this multilateral seminar is for teachers who are new to eTwinning to start off new collaborative projects with partners from around Europe.

Two teachers from Malta who took part in the eTwinning Project Snapshot of Europe, placed first and second respectively thanks to the photos that were taken by the students in their class. The winners are the Year 4 students of Ms. Maria Antioinette Magro from St. Gorg Preca College, Hamrun Primary GP and the Year 3 students of of Ms. Catherine Bezzina from St. Ignatius College, Siggiewi Primary C.
On Monday 30th May 2011, Ms. Amanda Debattista from the eTwinning National Support Service visited St. Ignatius College, Blata il-Bajda Girls’ Junior Lyceum to present tokens to the winning eTwinning pupils. The students of Ms. Josephine Ebejer Grech, Biology and Science teacher, took part in the eTwinning project Caustic. The project placed first in the Secondary schools section of the eTwinning National Awards 2011.
The project Caustic was a Biology-themed project, where each partner country - Malta, Romania and Italy – looked at their syllabus in order to find common topics and experiments they could work on collaboratively. Students from each country filmed their experiments, shared them on the TwinSpace and commented on each others’ work. Towards the end on the project, students also had to vote for their favourite video clip.
On Friday 27th May 2011, Ms. Jeannette Cardona and Ms. Amanda Debattista from the eTwinning National Support Service visited Gozo College, Victoria Girls’ Secondary Schoolto present tokens to the winning eTwinning Pupils. The students of Mr. Mario Xerri, Computer Studies and ICT teacher, participated in the eTwinning Project Eurobots. The project placed third in Secondary schools section of the eTwinning National Awards 2011.
